Description

There's been a surprising run of clear nights recently and alongside a new moon too - all very strange and likely the only occurrence in 2022!

While not a great focal length for galaxies, the framing for this made for an interesting shot with NGC 3593 in the lower right.  Some nice distant galaxies showing up dotted around too.

I wasn't optimistic during capture but once I'd thrown some of the rubbish Luminance away, I was left with a stack that had some surprising detail in it.  The RGB didn't add much but let some of the differing colours come through nicely.  In the end I'm really pleased with the end result.

I'm still struggling with LRGB calibration so couldn't push the image too far (keeping the background in check).

The tidal tail for NGC 3628 is there in the Lum stack but I can't bring it out in a natural way so it'll have to remain elusive again.

Reviewing so many short subs was extremely tedious, I need to think about using a lower gain with increased full well for LRGB!

Thanks for looking.
